Why i invested in a new fousebox - alan edgar
I'd been living in Brunswick Place for about two years and I'd always been a bit concerned about my electrics. When I bought the flat, the surveyor recommended I have an electrical inspection but, of course, I never got round to it.
I put up with the fuses blowing occasionally and although I was increasingly worried I still never took action. When a friend, who had used fuseboxheroes, suggested I give them a call, I decided I couldn't put it off any longer.
My first impression was how open, honest and straightforward the people were at fuseboxheroes. They seemed very generous with their time, advice and knowledge and after a few simple questions got to the heart of my problem. Unfortunately, it seemed I needed a new fusebox.
I booked a free home visit and the following week met Robbie, one of the company's founders, at the agreed time. As expected, my fusebox was sub-standard but to my relief the wiring seemed to be in good condition. Robbie explained that all the circuits would be tested as part of the installation of the new consumer unit. He could then tell for certain if they were fit for purpose. In any event, my flat was going to be a lot safer place to live. I decided to book the work in.
The work went ahead two weeks later and I was emailed two days before to remind me. The new consumer unit was installed and the wiring tested as discussed. Thankfully, the circuits were okay and I had only to replace the non-regulation flex from the living room ceiling lights and replace a few very old sockets. As these were simple enough tasks, fuseboxheroes did them for free.
At the end of the work, I was issued with all the test certificates and copies of the documents that are sent on to the council. I don't need to have my electrics looked at again for another ten years.
I feel very happy to have taken the step and put my electrics in order. I can't believe I left it so long but you do hear some nightmare stories about rogue tradesmen. The team at fuseboxheroes were competent and professional and made the whole process so straightforward.
I have happily recommended them to other friends just as my friend did for me.
