Inspection, testing and certification
fuseboxheroes conduct a comprehensive range of inspection, testing and certification services for its clients.
This includes visual and periodic inspections, minor works certification and new domestic installation certification. Competent electricians have always performed inspection, testing and certification but since January 1st 2005 and the introduction of PART P, it has become a legal requirement for practically all electrical work carried out in a domestic premises.
Whether you're a homeowner wishing to refurbish your bathroom or kitchen, a builder renovating a house or building an extension, or a landlord wishing to conform to your statuatory requirements then you'll need the right certification.
The different types of certification that we offer are:
Visual Inspections - these are the simplest inspections that we conduct and are useful if you have concerns about your installation because of its age or suitablility, or if you have doubts about the way the circuits were installed. A visual inpsection will provide you with a detailed description of your incoming supply, a list of final circuits and comments on the installation's compliance to the current regulations.
Periodic Inspections - these are very useful for small businesses and professionally minded landlords who wish prove compliance with their legal and statuatory obligations. A periodic inspection will provide you with a detailed description of your incoming supply, a list of final circuits with the appropriate live-test and dead-test results and comments on the installation's compliance to the current regulations.
Minor Works Certificates - this is the very basic certification that you should expect to receive from your electrician if you've had some work done to your installation. If for example an electrician installs a new kitchen ring, bathroom lighting or an electric shower then they should leave you with a Minor Works Certificate detailing the extent of the work and listing the appropriate live-test and dead-test results for the circuits which were installed or modified.
Domestic Installation Certificates - this is the most common form of certifcation that we provide. If you have a new fusebox installed by us then you'll also have a complete test carried out on all circuits connected to that fusebox. In most circumstances this means the entire installation. This certification will provide you with a detailed description of your incoming supply, a list of final circuits with the appropriate live-test and dead-test results and comments on the installation's compliance to the current regulations.
